Venetian Festivals
Festivals all around the year
Venetian festivals are held all around the year: some of them are very widely known, like Carnival, while others are much less famous, such as the Salute Fest. Moreover, there is also a fest that has a different meaning in Venice and in the rest of Italy: it is the 25 of April, a Public holiday to commemorate the Liberation from Nazi-Fascism. In Venice, it is also celebrated as Saint Mark's day.
In the following pages you will find an introduction to the main Venetian festivals which are still celebrated in the lagoon.
