The Calcina, according to tradition, got its name from the fact that it was the seat of the warehouses of Calcinera (sellers of lime). Under the Bridge Calcina, built in 1840, passing boats laden with lime and stone. As the most prestigious in Venice, this was a place frequented by artists, writers and researchers. Today, coffee is called "La piscina" to keep alive the memory a "piece" authentic Venice: the old seaside resort called "piscina Passoni," which in the '60s was a place of sport but also for meeting and recreation for many Venetian.
