Two different saints
San Simeone Grande church is dedicated to San Simeone Profete: therefore, even if the name looks similar to the near San Simeone Piccolo church, this one is not dedicated to Jesus's apostle but rather to the priest who hosted Jesus in the temple.
Founded in 967, the church have been modified several times until 1861. Amon the paintings, a Last Supper by Tintoretto.
San SImeone Profeta Church is located in Santa Croce district, at the beginning of the canal rio Marin.
