The Archaeological museum of Venice
National Archaeological Museum of Venice is located on Saint mark's square, sharing its entrance with Correr museum.
Its early founding in 1523 made it possible for it to gather a number of objects thanks to donations by wealthy Venetian families.
The Archaeological Museum of Venice displays marbles, coins, fragments, ceramics and much more from Neolithic to Roman Age, with a few rooms dedicated to Roman portraits in marble.
