How to arrive in Venice by ship

 Many people arrive in Venice by ship, although there are many ways to do so: Venice port is served by several cruise lines (the city being part of many cruise circuits in the Mediterranean), but also by ferries, catamarans and hydrofoils.
There are many lines which offer fast connections between Venice and several towns in Greece, Croatia and Slovenia.
People who plan to get to Venice by ship must be aware that the port of Venice has two main sites for passengers' lines: the Marittima terminal (where most of the cruise ships arrive), and the smallest San Basilio terminal, in the sestiere of Dorsoduro in the heart of Venice.
Some cruise ships and yachts dock at Riva dei Sette Martiri, in the district of Castello, at a short distance from Saint Mark's square.
