Dorsoduro: a place for museums and Venetian dolce vita

 Dorsoduro is the most Southern district of Venice, extended from San Basilio to the Punta della Dogana. It also includes Giudecca island, a populated island located just on the South of the town. It is connected to Saint Mark neighbourhood through the Accademia bridge, one of the three bridges on the Grand Canal and the only one made in wood.
The sestiere of Dorsoduro in Venice is home to some of the most important museums of the city, such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Gallerie dell'Accademia. Santa Margherita square is considered the centre of university student life, with ice cream shops and nice open air cafes where to sip a spriz, the most popular drink of Venice, at any time of the year.
It is also possible to walk along its long Southern road, known as Zattere, enjoying the view on the Giudecca Canal and reaching the Punta della Dogana, to admire an amazing sight on Saint Mark square.
